Bacteriostatic water is purified water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol, an agent that inhibits the growth of bacteria. The preservative allows a sealed multi-dose vial to be accessed more than once. It is widely used in laboratory, clinical and compounding settings.
Plain sterile water carries no preservative, so it is generally intended for single use. Bacteriostatic water adds 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which is what makes a multi-dose vial practical.
We supply 3 mL and 10 mL multi-dose vials, available individually or in packs of 3, 5 and 10. Larger standing orders can be arranged on request.
We start from USP-grade water, pass it through a 0.22 micron sterile membrane, then fill and flip-cap seal under filtered air in a controlled cleanroom. Every batch is checked for clarity and sterility before it is released.
Store sealed vials at room temperature, away from direct light. Once a vial has been opened, follow standard practice for multi-dose vials and discard it within the period indicated on the label.

Orders are dispatched within 24 hours in plain, unbranded packaging by express registered post. Shipping is free up to 1kg (about five ten-packs), then $20 per additional kilogram.
